A Day in the City

Good friends make the best company when you're on a day trip. We took the Bart from Fremont to meet up with a really old friend (Nagtalonnnn) for lunch. (: We had the best (I mean it) chicken sandwich for lunch and some mouth watering desserts. Then we went to his apartment where we met his cat, Momo. It was a quaint little apartment. Then we took the Bart again to Powell St. to shop at Union Square. Later saw us on the cable car to Fisherman's Wharf where we had dinner at a seafood restaurant. Then, we took the Muni to Embarcadero station where we were supposed to take the Bart back to Fremont. Only, we somehow thought there were no more Fremont trains and panicked until we asked directions and finally made it back home. Safe and sound.

The bestest chicken sandwich I've ever ever tasted. It's so famous that the store didn't even have a sign and there's a really long line when we got there. What I love about it is their outdoor seating. Their tables are not your regular rectangle or square tables -- they use old ironing boards!! Isn't that so creative? I would go all the way back for the sandwich again. It's definitely worth the trip (and the wait).

Delicious strawberry shortcake. The cake is not overly sweet and the strawberries were glazed just right. This is already on my "what to bake this summer" list. So far, I've made tiramisu, chocolate marble pound cake, and today, peanut butter and chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. Are you hungry yet?
A variety of cookies... chocolate chip, ginger, oatmeal raisin, almond (I think) shortbread... But I was so full after eating just half of my awesome chicken sandwich.

This is the cat I mentioned before. Momo. And I swear he is the FATTEST cat! 14 pounds!!! Peter carried Momo and said it was heavier than a baby. Hahaha. And I touched a cat for the first time. Hooray.
For some strange reason that I cannot fathom, Momo is addicted or attracted to floss. See the white string the fat cat is staring at?
Group photo! Smile Momo, smile.
Waiting in line for our turn on the cable car. It was a really long wait and we all made a guess how many cable cars we had to wait before we could get on. I said 7. How ridiculous. Peter and Amelia guessed 6 and Khoa 5.
When standing in line becomes boring and you have a group of friends and a camera... you start to take pictures.
Two very annoying sisters.Taken on a moving cable car. The wind was blowing against our faces and it was super, super cold. I think we all had stomach aches after.
A timeless classic shot of all four of us getting off the cable car. People are even amazed (see lady in red and half of a man's body. Note especially his finger pointing at us).
What tourists do when they go sightseeing.
I found my license plate on sale at Fisherman's Wharf! Now I just need a car. (:
Beee's favorites.
More of Beee's favorites.
Such cute bread at Boudin Bakery.
Human traffic. Hahaha.
This. is. what. I want. to. sit. in. when. I. graduate. ((: Except I want a white limousine.
Alcatraz. We're going when Dad comes in a few days.
A store selling kites! I was so fascinated since I've never ever flown a kite, ever. And I'd always want to fly one. So... I bought my first kite yesterday!
My first kite! Isn't it pretty.
A stop into Krazy Hats is always a must for us when in Pier 39. To our dismay, the selection of funny hats diminished to only about fifteen different kinds. Peter and I managed to find two that weren't already on others' heads. I guess the people in the store figured that they'd make more money selling real hats, since tourists were always more fascinated in taking pictures with fanciful hats rather than purchasing them.
The already very hungry Khoa looks satisfied when we got a table and our food was served pretty fast. By then, we were all tired and ready to stuff ourselves with seafood. We were at Pier 39, after all.
The couple. I need to point out something here. Khoa was looking forward to only CLAM CHOWDER. See what's he having for dinner? I know right.
Amanda & Peter. Not the couple. Just two very awesome friends hanging out.

A very exhausted me forcing a smile. How do I look? Tired?
P.S. This clam chowder was good, I actually ate many many clams without having to dig for them.
