Winter Break in California

I'll admit. Having been accustomed to the quarter system, I'm still getting used to the semester system -- where classes run for a couple more weeks and the breaks in between are longer, too. So this winter break, instead of the usual short of three weeks vacation, I had a full month!

I decided to bake a batch of madeleines again, just because J loves it so much. The last time I made these was when I was still in LA and had a mini madeleine pan. That year, my birthday gift was a regular madeleine pan from my love and it was such a thoughtful gift. <3

Some of my madeleines turned out to be over-baked and slightly burnt! Definitely need more practice with these little babies.
